A Note on Inclusive Language at Gut Rebel Wellness

Who We Serve

At Gut Rebel Wellness, our programs and services are designed for all people experiencing hormone fluctuations, gut health challenges, and perimenopause symptoms—regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation.

While we often use the term "women" in our materials, we want to be explicitly clear: our care extends to all people experiencing hormonal or digestive health challenges, whether or not you identify as a woman, and regardless of your surgical history.

While we often use the term "women" in our materials, we want to be explicitly clear: our care extends to all people experiencing hormonal or digestive health challenges, whether or not you identify as a woman, and regardless of your surgical history.

Our Commitment to You

We recognize that:

  • Not all women have a uterus

  • Not all people with a uterus identify as women/female

  • Gender is a spectrum, not a binary

  • Your lived experience and identity are valid and deserve respectful care

What This Means in Practice

  • If you're experiencing hormone-related symptoms with your body's endogenous hormones, our programs can help you—regardless of your gender identity

  • If you've had a hysterectomy or are in menopause, we can support your digestive health needs while acknowledging that hormone-specific care may require coordination with your hormone therapy provider

  • If you're navigating perimenopause, menopause, or other hormone transitions (naturally or with medical support), we have tools, support, and evidence-based approaches for you

  • If gut health is your primary concern, our programs welcome people of all genders without exception

  • If you're transgender and on hormone therapy, we welcome you and can support your digestive health needs, while respecting your established hormone therapy plan

The Language We Use

We're actively working to make our language more inclusive while still effectively communicating with our core audience. You may notice we use terms like:

  • "People with uteruses" when discussing specific physiological experiences

  • "Hormone health" rather than "women's health" when possible

  • Gender-neutral language throughout our materials where appropriate

When we do use the term "women," we do so with an expansive definition that includes trans women, cis women, and anyone who identifies with womanhood in their own authentic way.

My Practice Commitments

As part of creating an inclusive practice, I am committed to:

  • Not making assumptions about clients' gender identities, expressions, or sexual orientation

  • Accepting and respecting gender fluidity and non-traditional gender presentations

  • Treating all clients with compassion, understanding, and respect

  • Listening to your experiences and needs without judgment

  • Using your preferred name and pronouns

  • Continually educating myself on inclusive healthcare practices

Our Rebel Promise

The rebellious spirit of Gut Rebel Wellness means challenging outdated norms—including binary views of gender. We're committed to creating a space where real life solutions are available to real people with real bodies, in all their beautiful diversity.

A Commitment to Growth

I want to acknowledge that my understanding and education around gender, identity, and inclusive language is a work in progress. I am actively learning and evolving in how I communicate about these important topics. I welcome feedback on my language choices and approach—your input helps me create a more inclusive and supportive practice for everyone.

Confidentiality and Intended Safe Space

I maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information shared with me, particularly around gender identity and expression. Your personal details, health history, and other sensitive information are kept private and secure. While I may share client testimonials and success stories with explicit permission, I never disclose personal details without consent.

My practice strives to create a judgment-free environment where you can discuss your health concerns openly and honestly. While I cannot guarantee that everyone will experience my practice as a safe space, it is my sincere intention and ongoing commitment to foster an atmosphere of respect, understanding, and acceptance for all clients.
